Teacher Journal

Privacy policy

Draft: the full privacy policy is still to come. Until then, this page sums up how the app handles your information.

Your journal is yours

  • Only you can see your entries. Your school, including school admins, can't. The database enforces this, not just the screens.
  • Your data is stored in Australia (Sydney). You can choose to store students as full names, initials or codes.
  • Student wellbeing notes are for your own reflection. Serious concerns, including child protection matters, must go through your school's official process.

AI help

AI help is off unless you turn it on. When it's on, slide text with student names removed, and summary numbers from your dashboards, go to Anthropic's Claude service, which may process them outside Australia. Student names, student numbers, names you type, your notes and private answers are never sent.

Your choices

  • Export everything you've entered, and your uploaded slides.
  • Clear student names at the end of the year: names become codes and your trends stay.
  • Delete your account, which removes your entries, students and files.

You'll find all three in Settings › Privacy.

No analytics or other third-party scripts receive what you write in your journal.
